Disney Day!

On our last full day in Paris we visited Euro Disney and had a blast. Thanks to my mom (Hi mom!) who works for Disneyland and gave us complimentary tickets! I was just as excited as little kid walking up to the park. I couldn’t wait to see the similarities and differences from the original park back at home, and just feel some Disney magic. I was not disappointed!

After getting our tickets we walked to the adjoining park (much like DCA is to Disneyland), Walt Disney Studios. You enter into a big studio building with various sets acting as restaurants and shops. After exciting you’re greeted by the familiar Mickey and Walt Disney statue we see at Disneyland. Here you can see the Hollywood Tower of Terror ride in the background.

We had heard that the newly opened Ratatouille ride was pretty cool, but very popular, so we headed there first. The area was pretty cool – buildings, a restaurant, a fountain and the ride. We went single rider because the wait time was long and fast pass wasn’t available. The ride is a 3d adventure in which you’re a small rat (the cars are rats) and you travel to various scenes, similar to the movie. You’re sneaking through the kitchen, hiding from humans in the big kitchen fridge/pantry, traveling through the restaurant dining room underneath a cart, where you see the food critic from the movie and you get chased away by the movie antagonist chef and work your way to the rat kitchen where all the rats are helping to cook food. It was definitely fun!

The castle! On the left you can see it’s perched on a little mountainside. There was a cave area underneath the castle.

The Indiana jones ride was a roller coaster, so that was new and exciting. It was a little jerky but it was fast and fun with a loop.
